This area is best known for producing many of Argentina's best wines including the famous Malbec variety. It also a center for olive oil production.

We took a very long twelve hour overnight bus ride from Buenos Aires to reach Mendoza.

To get around to all the vineyards or "bodegas" we hired a driver and made appointments using the The Vines of Mendoza tourism / wine tasting office.

Some of the vineyards we visited included Bodega Achaval Ferrer, Bodega Cava de Cano (awesome buffet lunch) and Bodega Weinert.
