Visiting the quaint town of Colonia in Uruguay was by far the most relaxing side trip we took while visiting Buenos Aires, Argentina.

To get to Colonia from Buenos Aires, we took a three hour ride on the Buquebus ferry boat for $80 USD per person each way.

Once in Colonia, we stayed at the lovely Days Inn "Casa Del Sol" just a few kilometers away from the town center.

Some of the attractions we saw while visiting Colonia include the Bastion de San Pedro de Alcantara, the lighthouse tower, the Colonia Casino, the Colonia Antigua historic area, Bastion de San Miguel, the Suspiros Art Gallery, the Museo Casa de Nacarello, the Colonia International Airport, the Playa de Colonia beach, the Colonia City Fair (Feria de Colonia), the Sheraton Colonia Hotel, and the Sacramento Restaurant.
