| The tour started on Avenida 9 De Julio, the widest avenue in the world, and continued until our first stop at Avenida Cordoba. We were given a few minutes to get out of the bus, admire the fountain, and try our luck at crossing the 12 lane (425 feet) wide Avenida 9 De Julio. It seemed to take several minutes just to get across this street with a stop on each of the medians while waiting for the lights to change. Avenida 9 De Julia honors Argentina's independence day which was July 9th 1816. | ||||

| Some of the most notable "sights" we saw on this tour included the Obelisk (obelisco), Plaza San Martin, Plaza De Mayo, Plaza Del Congreso, the Recoleta Church, Parque Lezama, the Presidential Palace, La Bombonera soccer stadium in La Boca, the Palermo Woods, the Ecological Reserve, El Caminito, Parque Tres De Febrero, and the Floralis Generica (large metal flower). We also drove through various Buenos Aires neighborhoods including Palermo, Recoleta, Puerto Madero, La Boca, San Telmo, and Montserrat. | ||||

| If you have more time, there is also another version of this BYT Argentina Buenos Aires Sightseeing City Tour that includes a two hour lunch in a Puerto Madero restaurant overlooking the water. Puerto Madero Waterfront is a very modern neighborhood in Buenos Aires that was originally an area built to accomodate large cargo boats. Now the area is home to luxury loft apartments, a university, fancy restaurants, and upscale shops. The longer tour costs $45 per person and includes lunch. | ||||

| Most of the almost 200 pictures on these four pages were taken from inside the bus while it was moving, so please excuse if a few are blurry or obscured by the window frames. The bus also made stops during the tour at Plaza De Mayo, and the El Caminito street tourist area in La Boca. Luckily, our stop at the Plaza De Mayo coincided with the demonstration by the Mothers of the Plaza de Mayo. | ||||

| At the conclusion of the BYT Argentina Buenos Aires Sightseeing City Tour, we were given the option of being dropped off at the Recoleta Cemetary or the Galerías Pacífico Mall. We chose to check out the Galerias Pacifico Mall since the Recoleta Cemetery was within walking distance from our apartment and we had plans to visit it later in the week. | ||||

| Overall, I really enjoyed this Buenos Aires city tour since it covered all the major parts of the city in just a few hours with several short stops to stretch our legs and explore on our own. If you only have a few days in Buenos Aires, I highly recommend the tour as a way to quickly sample the city. The tour allowed us to fine tune our list of neighborhoods and attractions we wanted to re-visit or explore further in the future. For just $15 per person, it was an excellent deal. | ||||
